Pritam Dhar's journey began with challenges in his early education. At the age of three, he joined a regular school, but after approximately one year, his family was asked to withdraw him because of difficulties associated with his condition. Instead of allowing these circumstances to define his future, his family continued looking for opportunities through which Pritam could express himself and develop his abilities. He subsequently began learning and performing dance alongside other children in his hometown, Durgapur.

This early experience became an important turning point in his life. Dance provided him with a space where he could participate, express himself, develop confidence, and experience the joy of learning and performing.

From an early stage, dance became much more than an extracurricular activity for Pritam. It became a powerful form of expression, confidence, happiness, and connection.

He began dancing with other children in Durgapur and gradually developed a strong interest in different dance forms. With consistent practice and encouragement from his family, he continued learning and performing. His passion eventually led him and his father to Kolkata, where he could receive further opportunities for development and performance. Over the years, dance became the foundation of his identity as a dance performer in Kolkata and an inspirational dancer in India.

In 2006, Pritam came to Kolkata with his father for further development in dance. The move created new opportunities for him to continue practicing, learning, and performing. Over the years, Pritam showcased his talent at several respected cultural platforms across Kolkata, including Sisir Mancha, Netaji Indoor Stadium, Okakura Bhavan, Salt Lake, Rabindra Sadan, Mohit Mancha, and other cultural venues. His continued participation in performances reflects years of discipline and dedication.
